iPSC NeuroHub

About

Our Vision

The iPSC NeuroHub strives to provide a high-quality service to the BWH neuroscience research community, including acquiring and distributing human iPSC lines, developing novel differentiation methods and techniques and educating researchers via seminars and consults. The establishment of a community resource such as the NeuroHub allows fellow researchers and labs to have access to and study a wide array of human iPSC lines.

The iPSC NeuroHub was launched in January of 2018 to serve the ARCND community. The long term goal is that the NeuroHub will serve as an intellectual center for iPSC research – drawing together researchers from different parts of BWH and beyond, with diverse clinical and scientific disciplines, who can share and learn from each other’s experiences.

Leadership

Tracy and Christina

Dr. Christina Muratore

Director of iPSC NeuroHub,

Christina has been working with iPSCs since 2010 and is in charge of the NeuroHub facility and its day to day operations. Prior to the NeuroHub, Christina was an Instructor in the Young-Pearse lab where she investigated the mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease using iPSCs. During her time in the Young-Pearse lab Christina created, optimized and implemented a highly reproducible system for generating neural cultures from human stem cells.

Dr. Tracy Young-Pearse

Founder and Advisor to iPSC NeuroHub

The laboratory of Dr. Tracy Young-Pearse (a member of the Department of Neurology and the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases) has been using iPSCs since 2010 to study Alzheimer’s disease and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Dr. Dennis Selkoe

Advisor to iPSC NeuroHub

Dr. Dennis Selkoe is the Coates Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and co-director of the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Selkoe has a long-standing interest in studying neurodegenerative diseases and has made numerous contributions to the field over his research career.
